In recent years society has become more aware of both the health benefits and side effects which result from the consumption of various products. Interestingly there has been much debate over the effects of coffee consumption on your well-being, however this week a study from a group of Swedish scientists has been released which followed the coffee consumption individuals and then tracked the incidence of Dementia in later life.
The study found that those individuals who consumed between 3-5 cups of coffee a day where 65% less likely to develop dementia. Although the results arnt conclusive, it is interesting to track the process of a scientific study relating to coffee.
Previously another study found that the consumption of coffee also reduced the likelihood of individuals developing type 2 diabetes, a disease which has been linked with increasing the incidence of dementia. Dr. Miia Kivipelto, the lead author of the study still does not encourage coffee drinking as a way to prevent the onset of dementia, as the effects of taking up coffee drinking are not conclusive.
Whilst this isnt the best reason to go buy a coffee machine, like a Saeco Odea Go, Its a good excuse!
